Our charity’s former Executive Director, Sally Douglas made the difficult decision to pass the reigns of the charity’s leadership onto IEF’s current CEO in 2022 as her own successful business continued to scale at a rapid speed. Sally remains an active and critical member of IEF’s senior leadership team, where she supports the charity in collaborative work with select partners, sponsors, and press, along with supporting the strategic development and implementation of IEF’s programs. 

As an entrepreneur who immigrated to Canada in 2005, Sally has working knowledge of the additional barriers faced by equity-deserving groups across our Nation. Sally combines her incredible communication, problem-solving, and negotiating skills to steer advocacy for those the charity serves, and to champion the successes of our network with all levels of government and press. 

In addition to her work with IEF, Sally is Co-Founder of GSD&Co., providing communication solutions and business management consultation for both private and public organizations, with specializations in crisis management, change management, training and development, human resources, government relations and public relations.

Prior to co-founding her current business and joining IEF, Sally was deputy publisher for a national, online news service. She has served on a variety of boards including the Ottawa Board of Trade, Women in Communication and Technology and World Press Freedom Canada.
