IEF’s flagship program, the Canadian Innovation & Entrepreneurship (CANIE) Awards, celebrates and honours outstanding entrepreneurs who have demonstrated excellence in innovation, sustainability, social impact, community leadership, and business achievement.

This year we are thrilled to join the Startup Canada Tour in Brampton Ontario on October 26th, 2023, to announce the winners of the 2023 CANIE Awards!

Get to Know the Competition Bureau of Canada

Competition Bureau of Canada

The Competition Bureau is an independent law enforcement agency that works to foster a competitive and innovative marketplace in which Canadian businesses can prosper.

Competition law can be overwhelming. Understanding how it applies to your business can be difficult. To shed light on this crucial information, we’ll be sitting down with IEF community engagers to talk about all things competition law! Topics will include:

  • How the Bureau helps protect and promote competition
  • Staying above board with the law
  • Have a voice in pro-competitive policy changes

In this workshop we’ll provide a brief overview of who we are and how we support Canadian businesses. Then we will open up the floor to conversation to cover any questions you have. You can register for our webinar right here, and it’s FREE!

You’ll be seeing lots of us!

This will be the first of 3 webinars where we’ll be covering important topics that affect your business like:

  • Deceptive marketing: dos and don’ts about marketing your products and services.
  • Spotting illegal conduct: resources and tools to protect yourself and stay informed.

Along with our webinar series, we offer many resources that help business leaders like you understand the law and report potentially anti-competitive behaviour in your market.

We can’t wait to see you on August 17th!

Are you a female newcomer with a business idea? The Women’s Business Accelerator (WBA) is a free, online workshop series designed for women newcomers/immigrants, designed to equip you with the tools you need to launch a profitable business in Canada.
