June 11th, 2020 – The Innovators and Entrepreneurs Foundation has named outstanding entrepreneurs, innovators and support organizations from across Canada as winners of the first CANIE Awards. The Prairies regional winners were announced from Ottawa, ON, where the Digital Ceremony was broadcasted and transmitted via Facebook and Twitter. The ceremony was emceed by the nationally respected public figure, writer and entrepreneur, Catherine Clark and the Gala opening remarks were given by Honorable Tanya Fir, Regional Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Tourism and by Naheed Nenshi, Mayor of Calgary.
Winners shared their stories and spread a message of resilience and hope throughout the community while enlightening other entrepreneurs with strategies to reinvent themselves in moments of crisis.
